The Six Bags Project

Six Bags

The 6 Bags project was one of the first initiatives launched by the Rory foundation. For each of the first 6 tournaments Rory played in, for the first four months of 2013, his new Nike golf bag was branded with the name and logo of a children’s charity. During the tournament the bags were auctioned through the Rory Foundation website with all money raised going to the featured charity.

Tournament 1

ABU DHABI CHAMPIONSHIP

The first tournament in 2013 was the Abu Dhabi Championship and the chosen charity was a very deserving charity from home – Cancer Fund for Children.

The charity also offers support to children and young people whose parent or guardian has cancer. Every week in Northern Ireland three children, teenagers or young adults are diagnosed with cancer, leaving three more families to cope with a level of devastation that is almost impossible to comprehend. www.nicfc.com

The children are going through difficult times and they often struggle with feelings of worthlessness, confusion, frustration, sadness and anger. The children and their families are seen at the Child Protection Team for the most severe child maltreatments.

The charities mission is to provide expertise in evaluating alleged maltreatments of child abuse and neglect, assessing risk and protective factors, and providing interventions to protect children and enhance their caregivers to provide a safer environment when possible. www.cms-kids.com
